After the stoppage of the project due to Abengoa's financial situation, a consortium formed by ACCIONA and Abengoa signs the contract to complete the construction of the Cerro Dominador Thermosolar plant in Chile.
The consortium, led by ACCIONA Industrial, will build the 110 MW thermosolar plant with Abengoa technology, being the first plant in South America with this technology.
Together with the100 MW photovoltaic plant, built by Abengoa and already in operation since 2018, the thermosolar tower plant will form a renewable energy complex with a total capacity of 210 MW, being the first plant to combine both technologies in all the continent.
The Cerro Dominador complex is located in the town of María Elena, Atacama desert, one of the areas with the highest solar radiation rates worldwide.
The consortium awards Goizea the support for the Sales and Steam Generation Systems, which were already partially manufactured in the first phase of the project, and which must be ready for the new stage, requiring quite a lot of modifications and revisions in a short period of time in order to meet customer's requirements.
